Annie Gallant

Research and Development Manager

Originally from the small village of Aguanish and the daughter of a salmon fisherman, Annie Gallant is naturally passionate about developing new seafood products. She holds a Diet Technician diploma from Collège Maisonneuve (Montreal) and has training in the processing of marine products from ÉPAQ in Grande-Rivière. Annie owned a fish market in Sept-Îles for seven years before joining AMIK in 2011.
As AMIK’s Research and Development Manager, Annie put her 20 years of experience in the fisheries section to the service of our member communities. Directly involved in the development of the Keshken brand and new technologies, Annie is passionate about promoting the use of Aboriginal fishing permits as well as job creation and economic independence for the Innu nation.
