Objective:
Encourage the use of both Traditional Indigenous (TIK) and scientific knowledge to manage American lobster stock issues.
The TIK collection project was concentrated in three communities of the Lower North Shore: Nutashkuan, Unamen Shipu and Pakua Shipu. Our achievements:

  • Collected TIK from 27 Innu fishermen;
  • Created 3 awareness panels on the American lobster
  • Published information brochures on the American lobster
  • Produced two audio clips (one in Innu and one in French) creating awareness on American lobster fishing
