The main objective of this project was to study the diversity and abundance of algae (Ascophyllum nodosum, Fucus vesiculosus and Fucus distichus evanescens) on the rocky littoral of the study area in order to determine the commercial potential of the resource using selective harvesting methods.

The project had many steps: literature review and expert consultations, comparative analysis of site identification methods, validation of pre-identified sites, sampling, analysis and the dissemination of collected data.
