The main objective of this project is to confirm the presence of scallops in less exploited sectors belonging to the community of Ekuanitshit in order to optimize fishing activities.
Two surveys were performed in the fall of 2016 and there is community interest in operating new activities in fishing areas 16E and 16F. This exploratory venture will take place at potential (depth and habitat appropriate) sites not covered by the research survey done by Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
